HOPE Economic Empowerment Center – Groundbreaking Ceremony

On October 30, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., HOPE will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the HOPE Economic Empowerment Center. The facility will be located at 5471 I-55 North in Jackson, Mississippi.


The HOPE Economic Empowerment Center builds on HOPE’s 30-year legacy as a resource for building the financial health and wealth of people in under resourced Deep South communities.

The HOPE Economic Empowerment Center:

  • Provides best-in-class retail, mortgage & small business products and services.
  • Makes meeting space available for missioned aligned partners to:
    • Provide financial counseling, homebuyer education, & business development assistance.
    • Hold community meetings to discuss policies and practices that stabilize communities and improve lives.
    • Engage in other activities that empower residents to climb the economic ladder.
  • Repurposes 13,442 sq. ft. of vacant commercial space.
  • Serves as a catalyst for revitalization and development along a corridor battling vacant buildings, vandalism and blight.
  • Models sustainable design elements incorporating solar power and increasing energy efficiency by 35% while uniting the interior and exterior with light, art, and natural elements. 

The HOPE Economic Empowerment Center will be HOPE’s 8th location in the Jackson metro area (Medical Mall, University Blvd., Terry, Utica, Old River Pace, East River Place and Provine High School.)

This milestone in HOPE’s three-decade journey to improve the financial health and wealth of people in under resourced communities across the Deep South is possible because of of support from our members, partners, public officials, and funders.
