Louisiana Hurricane Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program
The purpose of the program is to facilitate business survival and rapid restoration of business operations during the time between the storm and the receipt of other financing or financial assistance.
For established businesses in the following parishes of Louisiana which are experiencing adverse impacts as a result of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and that, as a result of either or both of these events, are substantially impacted or prevented from continuing their business operations.:
- Calcasieu
- Cameron
- Jefferson
- Lafourche
- Orleans

- Plaquemines
- St. Bernard
- St. Charles
- St. John

- St. Tammany
- Tangipahoa
- Vermilion
- Washington

To be eligible for a loan under this program, small Louisiana businesses:
- Must have suffered losses, damages, displacement or business interruption as a direct result of either or both hurricane Katrina or hurricane Rita; and
- Must commit to go back into business and to remain in or return from temporary locations to Louisiana, and to re-locate in the Louisiana community in which it was operating prior to the hurricane (its community of origin), or to one of its neighboring areas or parishes also adversely affected by the hurricane.
- Must have fewer than 100 employees
- Must have been established for at least one year in an above listed qualifying parish
Loan terms under this Program:
- The minimum loan is $5,000, the maximum $25,000.
- Term - up to and not to exceed 180 days
- The loan will be interest free for the 180 days. Available for an additional 62 days at a 4% interest rate.
- Unsecured
- Fees - limited to charges/expenses incurred
